‘Unfathomable delusion’ – Presidency hits Peter Obi over no evidence of winning 2023 election comment

The Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Bola Tinubu, Temitope Ajayi, has criticized the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for his "unfathomable delusion". Ajayi stated that the only explanation for Obi's insistence on claiming victory in the 2023 presidential election, which he finished third in, is unfathomable delusion.

This comes after Obi initially claimed victory in the election, but later retracted his statement almost four years later. Independent National Electoral Commission records confirm that Obi came third in the poll. However, in a recent interview with BBC Africa, Obi again insisted that he won the election. Ajayi's harsh criticism was shared on his X post, questioning the reasoning behind Obi's continued insistence on winning a poll he did not win.
