In an effort to document my journey towards a career change, I previously expressed my struggles and coping mechanisms in a previous post. As a personal exercise, I will now track my progress towards reshaping my perception and presentation to the job market.
Having a background in workflow automation, I aspire to broaden my expertise into infrastructure automation and DevOps. As of now, I am unemployed and finding it challenging to stay relevant in a market that caught me off guard.
During the first week of my journey, I submitted fewer job applications than my usual average. To address this, I decided to narrow my focus and think of more tailored roles. I aim to have at least one interview per week for the rest of the month, which should help decrease the number of applications and improve my chances.
I am on track to register as a self-employed individual, recognizing the tax and administrative responsibilities as a small price to pay for pursuing my goals. Meanwhile, a developer reached out to me, offering a job that seems like a dream come true. Although I possess the required seniority, I lack some technical knowledge. Despite this, I decided to apply for a previous role at the company that previously employed me, one year ago. Ultimately, I view them as customers and not competitors.
Regarding my upskilling plan, I remain focused on low-code/no-code automation platforms, which appear to be in demand, but also seem overcrowded. To diversify my portfolio, I am currently completing the n8n paths. Furthermore, I have secured a spot in a Google certification program, which I believe to be promising.
This week, I achieved a significant milestone by learning the foundations of Ansible. Additionally, I successfully built my first coding agent using GPT Luna.
