Donald Trump faced intense criticism on Wednesday after seemingly reiterating his controversial "take out" Los Angeles and San Diego comment during a rally in San Antonio, Texas. The president appeared to be trying a revised version of his earlier remark, which had been interpreted as a dare to Iran to attack the West Coast cities.
Trump stated, "Let them hit a missile into San Diego or Los Angeles on the way. You want to see a horror show? Let them hit San Diego. Let them hit Los Angeles. You want to see some bad things happen?" While Trump later clarified that he was criticizing Iran and not literally calling for a missile attack on U.S. cities, many took his words as a dangerous escalation of the conflict.
