Travel agents oppose B1,000 levy

The Association of Thai Travel Agents (Atta) has submitted a petition to the finance minister opposing the proposed 1,000-baht levy on all outbound passengers, currently under public consultation, warning it would raise the total tax and fee burden to 2,570 baht per trip for foreigners, while the tourism and sports minister voiced concerns over redundant costs for tourists.
