Some MP Private Hospitals To Stop Ayushman Treatment From October 8 Over NABH Rule

A handful of private hospitals in Madhya Pradesh will cease providing treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme starting October 8, according to hospital associations. Patients enrolled under the scheme will be denied care at these private facilities until their grievances are addressed. The boycott will only affect private hospitals that currently hold an entry-level NABH certificate. These smaller and medium-sized hospitals will retain their NABH certification until the expiration of their current certificates.

The associations are also planning a phased march to New Delhi with ambulances, starting on Thursday. Approximately 110 ambulances participated in a demonstration in Bhopal on Wednesday, and preparations are underway to involve around 1,000 ambulances from various districts. The associations are vehemently opposing the mandatory NABH certification requirement and have called for its immediate withdrawal.

As of October 1, NABH certification has become mandatory for 739 affiliated hospitals in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur, out of which around 310 hospitals possess the NABH certification.
