Google has announced the discontinuation of the Emergency LTE feature, known as Safety Signal, on the Pixel Watch 2 and 3. This feature allowed users to access Emergency SOS and Fall Detection without a Bluetooth or cellular connection. The Pixel ecosystem offers several safety features under the Safety app, including Emergency SOS and Fall Detection, but they require an internet connection to function.

Safety Signal provided a backup connection plan, ensuring these features remained operational even without a phone or internet access. However, Google has decided to end support for this feature on December 12. Users subscribed to Google Health Premium will receive a notification 30 days prior to the final shutdown. Despite this loss, Google’s existing standalone safety features will still function, albeit with a need for an alternative connection method.
