Punjab Food Authority Seizes 16 Tons of Animal Waste and 700 Liters of Oil

The Punjab Food Authority conducted a raid on a rendering unit near Rohi Nala, Punjab, seizing a significant amount of animal waste and oil. The unit, located on Manga Road, was found to be processing animal intestines, various organs, 700 liters of oil made from animal offal and bones, and 19 drums of sheep hides and wool. Acting on directions from Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmad, the enforcement team recovered the materials and identified the operator's activities as producing oil from animal waste, despite claiming the wool was for export.

The Director General stated that the facility lacked the necessary license for rendering fat and processing animal internal organs, and that essential records for processing, waste management, and traceability were also absent. Raja Mansoor Ahmad emphasized that individuals endangering public health would face enforcement actions, and assured that such violations would continue to be addressed.
