Ohemaa Mercy Hints At Memoir On Marital Abuse

Gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has alluded to penning a memoir chronicling her personal experiences with marital abuse. In a video shared on TikTok, she referred to her reluctance to publicly discuss her private life, attributing the silence to her responsibility for nations. She emphasized the value of maturity, citing the pain and sacrifice it entails.

Ohemaa Mercy mentioned she is currently working on a book detailing some of her harrowing experiences. She expressed that the publication will likely evoke tears among readers, as it will reveal the hardships many face, despite God's continuous faithfulness. Her remarks follow a surge in calls from celebrities to authorities, urging intervention in the domestic violence case involving fashion influencer Nana Akua Addo and her husband, Harold Duodu Norman.

Nana Akua Addo reportedly sought medical attention after an alleged assault by her spouse. A video that surfaced on social media depicted her with injuries, such as a swollen lip and a cut near her eye, implying she was assaulted. However, her husband's legal team refuted the assault allegations, claiming the injury occurred during a separate incident in 2021. During this event, they alleged the actress attempted to stab her husband with a knife, which he blocked with a dressing mirror, resulting in her injuries.

Nana Akua Addo's lawyers have also voiced their concerns regarding the leaked videos, asserting they infringe on her and her minor children's privacy. They have petitioned media outlets to cease sharing the footage, stating the matter is currently under examination by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service and the court. The investigation remains ongoing.
