Atlanta-based dance producer Nikki Nair is preparing to launch his latest EP, Majestic Animals, on the London label Hyperdub. This marks his first solo release on Hyperdub, although he previously collaborated with Japanese producer Foodman on the record Nagoya, which was also released on the same label last year. The EP consists of four tracks, each named after a different animal.
In the Bandcamp description, Nair explains that the inspiration for the album came from his contemplation of various creatures and their beauty and mystery as he composed the music. The first track, "Groundhogs," is an energetic, instrumental piece with drums that seem to originate from all directions. The EP will be available for purchase on Hyperdub starting October 16th.
