A Nigerian Air Force helicopter crash landed in a farmland near Makurdi, the capital of Benue State. This follows a recent NAF plane crash in Ondo State that killed around 25 people. The latest incident occurred when the helicopter was returning from an operation against suspected kidnappers along the Enugu-Benue border. It seems the plane had successfully disrupted the criminal elements' activities and aided advancing surface forces.
After the mission, the pilot chose to make a precautionary landing about 10 nautical miles from the airfield, following operational and safety protocols. The helicopter has since returned to its base. The NAF maintains its commitment to pressuring criminal elements, providing close air support to ground troops, and protecting communities through joint air-ground operations.
