Malaysia Secures 20 Recognitions, Including Eight Category Wins, At ASEAN Energy Awards 2026

Manila, Philippines - The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) has praised Malaysian organizations for their impressive performance at the ASEAN Energy Awards (AEA) 2026. Malaysia achieved twenty (20) recognitions, including eight (8) Wins, seven (7) First Runners-Up and five (5) Second Runners-Up. This marks an improvement from Malaysia's 2025 performance, when the country secured sixteen (16) recognitions, with six category wins.

The enhanced performance showcases the growing expertise of Malaysian organizations in adopting energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, as evidenced by the awards in categories such as green buildings, biogas, solar, micro-hydro, green hydrogen, waste-to-energy and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The achievements were recognized at the AEA 2026, which took place in Manila, Philippines, alongside the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF).

The recognitions not only highlight Malaysia's progress in energy transition objectives but also underscore the importance of collaboration among government, industry and other stakeholders in strengthening the country's energy ecosystem.
