Lions OC Drew Petzing on return to Arizona: 'Got to go out and beat them'
The Detroit Lions rank 20th in the NFL in rushing and have just one run over 20 yards despite having one of the best RBs in football.
Drew Petzing, the Lions' first-year offensive coordinator, expressed his excitement about returning to his former team, the Arizona Cardinals. Despite the Cardinals going 15-36 during his three seasons as offensive coordinator, Petzing emphasized that he will focus solely on the upcoming game against them. He praised his time in Arizona, noting the growth he experienced as a coach and a person under the guidance of staff like Jonathan Gannon and Nick Rallis.
Petzing highlighted the need for the Lions to enhance their run game, aiming for more explosiveness and consistency to improve their rushing offense, which currently ranks 20th in the NFL at 102 yards per game.
