Keir Starmer Siblings: Meet the Siblings Squad Behind the British Politician

Keir Starmer, the British politician who served as Prime Minister from July 2024 to July 2026, is the second of four siblings. His older sister, Anna, pursued a career in horticulture, working in a garden centre after raising a family. Keir's younger siblings are twins Katy and Nick, born in 1964. Nick faced significant challenges throughout his life, including learning difficulties from a complicated birth and enduring bullying at school.

Starmer's family played a supportive role, with him acting as best man at Nick's wedding and frequently defending him against taunts. Tragically, Nick passed away in 2024 after a battle with cancer. Starmer shared touching tributes to his brother, acknowledging his resilience in the face of adversity. On the professional front, Starmer qualified as a barrister in 1987, specializing in criminal defence and human rights law.

He co-founded Doughty Street Chambers and served as a human rights adviser to the Northern Ireland Policing Board. Appointed Queen's Counsel in 2002, he became Director of Public Prosecutions in 2008, a role he held until 2013. During his tenure, he oversaw crucial cases, such as the successful prosecution of the killers of Stephen Lawrence.

Starmer entered politics in 2015, winning the seat for Holborn and St Pancras. He later became Leader of the Labour Party in 2020, leading the party to victory in the 2024 general election and serving as Prime Minister until his term ended in 2026.
