IPS quota in CAPF posts comes into force
The Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Act, 2026, has come into effect on October 8. This Act mandates that senior posts in CAPFs be filled by IPS officers on deputation. The government supports this move for better coordination between the Centre and states. CAPF cadre officers express concerns regarding career advancement due to this new quota.
