The Los Angeles Dodgers secured their spot in the NLCS with a 4-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 4. Although Shohei Ohtani, their star player, has been struggling with injuries and poor at-bats, there are no plans to bench him, according to team officials. Dodgers president Andrew Friedman expressed strong confidence in Ohtani, acknowledging that he faced challenges throughout the summer and took time off, which helped him regain form.
Despite Ohtani's recent struggles, the Dodgers still managed to score their first run of the game on Wednesday, thanks to Ohtani's walk and subsequent run-scoring opportunity. While moving him down in the lineup during the series against the Braves did not yield significant results, it remains uncertain whether Ohtani will need to fully return to his previous self to perform against the Milwaukee Brewers, who had the best record in MLB during the regular season. Game 1 of the NLCS is scheduled for Sunday at Milwaukee.
