Eric Deters, a former Kentucky and Ohio trial lawyer and Republican candidate for Kentucky's 4th Congressional District, is a prominent Trump supporter and political donor. Despite his significant contributions to the Trump campaign, his net worth remains undisclosed. The Wall Street Journal reported that Kimberly Guilfoyle, now the US ambassador to Greece, allegedly requested Deters to pay a $100,000 credit-card bill in exchange for using her connections with the Trump administration to assist him with IRS and DOJ matters.

Deters had previously paid Guilfoyle $300,000 in speaking fees and was seeking her help with personal tax and legal issues. However, he declined the $100,000 offer, stating it would risk his marriage. Deters has also contributed $125,000 to a 2022 Trump political-action committee.
