São Paulo – Emirates SkyCargo has significantly expanded its operations in the Brazilian city of São Paulo this year, resulting in a notable increase in the volume of exports it handles. The Dubai-based air cargo carrier announced on Thursday (8) that it has added two weekly flights at Guarulhos Airport, bringing the total frequency to four. Overall, exports in the 2026/27 period are projected to rise by 22% compared to the previous year.

The majority of the products transported from South America are perishables, with Emirates SkyCargo reporting that 80,000 tonnes of such goods have been shipped since April 2024. This includes 66,000 tonnes of fresh flowers. Badr Abbas, Emirates SkyCargo's Divisional Senior Vice President, emphasized that South America is an emerging hub for exports across various sectors, particularly high-quality food products and fresh flowers, which require fast and reliable air cargo connectivity to reach global customers.

The expansion of operations in São Paulo is part of Emirates SkyCargo's broader fleet and network expansion plan. In addition to the two flights added at Guarulhos Airport, the company introduced three weekly frequencies to Buenos Aires, Argentina, along with one flight each to Bogotá, Colombia, and Quito, Ecuador.
