Eagles fans bring Philly spirit to London before NFL showdown

The Eagles may not have taken the field yet, but their fans have already made their way to London in anticipation of their upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The first group of Eagles supporters arrived on Wednesday as anticipation grew for Sunday's showdown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Among the travelers was Action News reporter Maggie Kent, who embarked on an overnight journey accompanied by a plane full of Eagles fans eager to share Philadelphia's spirit across the Atlantic.

Upon landing in the bustling city of London, fans expressed their enthusiasm for the trip, despite the long flight and jet lag. One fan remarked, "I can't wait for this plane to take off. It's going to be a party in the sky."

Eagles fans are anticipated to make their presence felt throughout London in the coming days as they gear up for the internationally broadcast matchup. This will mark the fourth NFL game to be played in the city, following the Eagles' previous visit to Wembley Stadium in 2018, where they defeated the Jaguars 24-18 in front of a crowd of nearly 86,000 fans. Sunday's game will once again pit the Eagles against the Jaguars, this time at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where a sellout crowd of approximately 62,000 fans is expected.

While Eagles fans are renowned for their transatlantic travels, Jacksonville has also cultivated a dedicated following in the United Kingdom through their participation in the NFL's International Series. The Jaguars have played 15 times in London, becoming somewhat of a local team among Brits. Sunday's game is fully booked, with around 62,000 fans, including Steven Kelley from Sewell, New Jersey, eagerly anticipating the contest.

Kelley remarked, "We travel so well, and that's what it's all about. We're loyal fans. We don't give up."

Action News will provide live coverage of the game from London throughout the week.
