The DJs Union of Ghana has called for a return to calm following an incident at Shatta Wale's ShattaFest concert in Ho on October 3, 2026, where he threatened to physically assault his DJ, Alinko, on stage. The artist had previously used his platform to promote unity among musicians. The altercation occurred as Shatta Wale's music changed during his performance.
In response, the Union emphasized the importance of collaboration, respect, and open communication within the music industry. They highlighted that DJs play a pivotal role in the success of artists and performances, serving as essential partners in the creative process. The Union urged musicians and DJs to engage in clear, respectful dialogue, including pre-show soundchecks, to prevent misunderstandings and maintain a positive working environment.
