Cybersecurity: BluDive, Delinea urge organisations to strengthen privileged access management as AI reshapes enterprise risk

As organisations accelerate their adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, automation and digital services, BluDive Technologies Limited and Delinea have called on enterprises to make identity security and Privileged Access Management (PAM) a central pillar of their cybersecurity strategies. The call was made at the BluDive-Delinea Executive Seminar, themed “Beyond the Firewall:…

At the BluDive-Delinea Executive Seminar, CEOs and cybersecurity leaders have urged organizations to prioritize identity security and Privileged Access Management (PAM) in light of the AI era. The rapidly evolving digital landscape, driven by AI, cloud computing and remote work, has transformed technology into an integral part of businesses. As a result, cybersecurity strategies must adapt to remain effective.

BluDive Technologies Limited's CEO, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Musa, emphasized that cybersecurity must move beyond traditional IT functions and become a strategic priority for boards. He highlighted people and governance as major challenges in cybersecurity, stressing that even advanced security technologies can be undermined by weak enforcement, poor practices, and inadequate governance. Musa called for a boardroom conversation on this issue, stating that the weakest link in cybersecurity remains people.

Nadia Zamouri, Delinea's Territory Manager for the Middle East & Africa, pointed out that the traditional network perimeter is insufficient to protect modern enterprises. With remote workforces, multi-cloud environments, third-party contractors, applications, and AI agents, access to enterprise systems increasingly occurs outside the traditional corporate network. She stressed that identity security should enable organizations to adopt AI confidently rather than hinder adoption.

Vijay Balakrishnan, Delinea's Sales Engineer, addressed the growing security risks associated with service accounts and non-human identities. Many organizations rely on service accounts for inter-application communication, but credentials for these accounts often remain static for extended periods, making them vulnerable to theft, reuse, or phishing attacks.

Balakrishnan advocated for Just-in-Time (JIT) privileged access, which grants users or systems elevated privileges only when necessary, automatically expiring once the session ends to minimize the window for attackers.

The seminar also highlighted the emergence of non-human identities in AI-driven environments. Applications, APIs, automation tools, bots, service accounts, and AI agents can now interact with enterprise systems with minimal human intervention. This introduces a new layer of cybersecurity risk, as organizations may overlook machine identities while focusing on employee access.

Musa noted the long-standing partnership between BluDive and Delinea, which has evolved beyond technology deployment. BluDive now serves as a premier Delinea partner, providing high-level technical support and certifications. This collaboration enables organizations to strengthen their identity security, Privileged Access Management, and overall cybersecurity posture in the face of the rapidly changing digital landscape.
