College football: Predictions, how to watch Illinois vs Michigan State
An inside look at the Illinois vs Michigan State college football game in Week 6 of the 2026 NCAA season, with predictions, odds, scouting reports.
The University of Illinois football team faces a crucial win in the upcoming Big Ten Conference game against Michigan State. The Fighting Illini have struggled, losing their first two attempts in conference action. Their next challenge is a trip to East Lansing to face a Michigan State team that has lost three straight games. The Spartans, however, have shown vulnerability, losing to Purdue last weekend and now facing a defense ranked 136th in the nation.
Both teams are unranked and the latest US LBM Coaches Poll has not seen either team receive votes. The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 10, at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Michigan. The broadcast will air on FS1, with streaming options available through FUBO and FOXSportsGo. Head coach Bret Bielema makes his first trip to East Lansing with the Illini, while former Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald returns to Michigan State.
