Bridgerton Prequel Spin-Off, Centered On Young Lady Violet, Ordered At Netflix

Shonda Rhimes, alongside Nicholas Nardini and Betsy Beers, has secured the rights to produce a prequel series centered around Lady Violet in Netflix's popular "Bridgerton" universe. The untitled spinoff will delve into the early life and budding romance of the matriarch, alongside her future husband Viscount Edmund Bridgerton. The series, similar to "Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story," will be set to begin production in London, with Hannah Dodd and Masali Baduza's Francesca and Michaela Stirling leading the narrative.

This marks a continuation of the "Bridgerton" saga, which has been based on the book series by Julia Quinn and has featured various siblings, including Daphne, Simon, Kate, and others, in their respective lead roles. The most recent season of "Bridgerton" explored Lady Violet pondering a second chance at love and even the possibility of remarrying following her husband's death, adding a new layer of intrigue to her character.
