Bartunkova beats Muchova to reach China Open semifinals
Nikola Bartunkova advanced to the semifinals of the China Open after defeating Karolina Muchova with a score of 6-3, 6-0. This marked Bartunkova's first WTA 1000 semifinal. The 20-year-old made quick work of her seventh-seeded opponent, taking an early 5-0 lead. It was Bartunkova's third win against a top 10-ranked player. She will next face French Open champion Mirra Andreeva or Ekaterina Alexandrova, who also made it to the quarterfinals earlier that day.
