Ashghal announces re-awarding of delayed infrastructure projects

Doha, Qatar: The Public Works Authority, known as Ashghal, has announced that eight delayed infrastructure projects will be re-awarded to new contractors in order to resume work. This follows the resumption of work on 13 projects since April 2025. Ashghal's President, Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, toured several roads and infrastructure development sites to monitor progress and review updates.

He emphasized the urgency of accelerating work in areas most affected by delays, with the goal of improving traffic flow and easing travel for residents and road users.

Al Meer inspected projects in various neighborhoods and districts, including Al Kharaitiyat, Izghawa, Al Kheesa, Al Meshaf, and Umm Slal. He directed teams to intensify efforts in these regions, ensuring that infrastructure networks are completed while adhering to quality and safety standards. The eight re-awarded projects serve around 6,360 residential plots, with additional projects planned to be completed by Q3 2027.
