Another rinse, repeat October as Aaron Boone's Yankees bow out vs Rays
Yankees captain Aaron Judge delivered a pointed message about the club's direction, after being swept by the Rays in the AL Division Series.
New York witnessed another shortened Yankees October, ultimately falling to the superior Tampa Bay Rays. Due to a strained right calf, Aaron Judge failed to step up to the plate in the American League Division Series. After the Rays' 4-3 victory in Game 3, securing a sweep and celebrating at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees' captain attempted one final swing.
Aaron Boone, the Yankees' manager, commended the team for working through the grind, despite the early exit. He emphasized the importance of being one percent better every day and the difficulty of the postseason environment. Despite the team's efforts, they couldn't overcome the Rays, with the rest of the Yankees batting .202 and driving in just two runs over 27 innings.
The team's manager, Boone, acknowledged their shortcomings and the challenges of holding high expectations in New York.
