Amazons About You profiles are roasting shoppers. Heres how to see yours.

Amazon's "About You" feature, which personalizes shopping experiences by sharing user preferences, has sparked controversy as shoppers share screenshots of seemingly intrusive insights into their lives. The feature, introduced in May, allows users to view and edit the information Amazon uses to tailor recommendations. However, a viral post on Threads on October 5 has brought the feature to light, revealing some of the more unusual observations.

Users have shared screenshots showing details like "flat buttocks" and "husband with skinny legs," leading to humorous and critical reactions. Amazon attributes these insights to purchase history, searches, saved lists, product reviews, and Alexa conversations. The company emphasizes that users can review and modify these details, including removing them altogether.

While the feature may offer convenience, the viral screenshots suggest concerns about the extent of personal information Amazon collects and shares.
