ADC presidential campaign council for inauguration Friday — Official

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) will officially inaugurate its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Friday, marking a pivotal moment in the party's preparations for the 2027 general elections. The ceremony will take place at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre in Abuja, commencing at 4pm. The inauguration aims to formally activate the ADC's presidential campaign structure, setting the stage for the nationwide campaign.

According to Kola Ologbondiyan, the Special Adviser to the National Chairman on Media and Publicity, the event will convene major leaders of the party and candidates seeking elective positions on the ADC platform. All ADC leaders, governorship candidates, National Assembly candidates, and State House of Assembly candidates are expected to attend the inauguration.

The PCC, as outlined by Ologbondiyan, will be directed by Senator Austin Akobundu, appointed by President Atiku Abubakar, who currently holds the ADC presidential ticket. This move signifies the party's commitment to building a strong campaign framework as it positions itself as a formidable opposition platform challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress in the upcoming elections.

The inauguration comes amid intensified political preparations across the nation, with opposition parties like the ADC focusing on strengthening their structures and coordinating campaign activities. Atiku's emergence as the ADC presidential candidate has been pivotal in galvanizing opposition efforts to consolidate forces ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
