35 kg marijuana bound for Ongole seized near Rajahmundry

In a recent operation near Rajahmundry, Telangana, the EAGLE Force seized 35 kg of marijuana worth ₹15.5 lakh from a 27-year-old bike taxi rider named Pacharla Kranthi Kumar. The accused, from Ganesh Nagar, Rajahmundry, was apprehended while transporting the contraband from Odisha to Ongole on the outskirts of Rajahmundry. Kumar was intercepted on a two-wheeler after authorities received information about the marijuana shipment being moved from Odisha.

The Khammam Regional Narcotics Control Cell of the EAGLE Force in Andhra Pradesh conducted the operation. During questioning, Kumar claimed he had collected the marijuana in Odisha and was delivering it to another recipient in Ongole. Authorities are investigating Kumar's statement and trying to determine the origin and destination of the consignment.

Besides the marijuana, officials seized a scooter and two mobile phones. Kumar and the seized items were turned over to the Rajahmundry III Town Police Station for further legal proceedings. The investigation will concentrate on tracking the marijuana's source, recipient and other individuals involved in its procurement and transport, officials disclosed.
