2 more held for HR manager's murder after argument over banana prices in Faridabad

Two individuals were apprehended in Faridabad regarding the murder of a senior HR manager for an electric vehicle firm, following a disagreement over banana pricing, according to police on Thursday. One of the suspects was apprehended during an encounter with a crime branch team, while the other turned himself in. Previously, three individuals – Prashant, Naman, and Akash – had been arrested in the case.

On October 4, Lakshman, the HR manager, was stabbed to death at Dealer Chowk by the two accused after a dispute with a fruit vendor over charging ₹100 for a dozen bananas. The vendor, Rinku, informed his associates who subsequently attacked both Lakshman and his nephew Mahesh. Mahesh sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Faridabad police public relations officer Yashpal Yadav reported that an encounter occurred around 2am in Sector 62, where the two accused were discovered hiding in a sewer-pipe warehouse. During the raid, Tarun alias Naveen, one of the suspects, opened fire at the police team in an attempt to flee. He was shot in the leg and apprehended at the scene, taken to Badshah Khan civil hospital for treatment.

A homemade pistol used by Tarun was recovered from the location. Tarun's associate, Jatin, was present before the encounter escalated.
