‘You are doing good work’: Rahul hands out water bottles to Delhi Police during detention | Watch
Rahul, along with other INDIA bloc MPs, was on his way to Jantar Mantar in Delhi to stage a sit-in on Wednesday when the police detained him
The BJP accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of attempting to push a female police officer during an opposition protest on Wednesday. This claim came after a video clip posted by BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari on social media platform X showed the incident. Bhandari asserted that Gandhi's motive was to create a "reel" moment.
Meanwhile, opposition MPs belonging to the INDIA bloc staged a sit-in protest at Ashoka Road to protest alleged "vote chori" and demand the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. This protest followed a previous eight-hour hunger strike and a failed attempt to hold the demonstration at Jantar Mantar due to police intervention.
The MP delegation, including Gandhi, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other leaders from various political parties, was eventually removed by the police and detained. The protest caused significant disruption in the high-security area for the second consecutive day.
