Ukrainian Lawmaker to Stand Trial for Soliciting $250,000 Sanctions Deal
Ukraine’s anti-graft agencies said a lawmaker and her assistant will soon stand on trial for soliciting bribes in exchange for national sanctions against business competitors. The case, publicized in December 2025, alleged that a group organized the scheme with the lawmaker as a guarantor, who reportedly took half of the money but failed to find an official to impose the sanctions.
