Trump to appear at White House science event on Thursday

US President Donald Trump will participate in a White House event on Thursday focused on scientific discovery, according to a statement from his technology adviser Michael Kratsios. The gathering aims to emphasize the administration's strategy for reforming the management and distribution of federal scientific research funds, as revealed by an invitation obtained by Reuters. Kratsios unveiled this plan in July.

The event will see presentations from Energy Secretary Chris Wright and NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, in addition to President Trump's participation. Separately, Trump is set to confer the National Medal of Science on five prominent figures in the scientific community. These honorees include SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, and AMD CEO Lisa Su.

The National Medal of Science is the country's most prestigious award for scientists and engineers, as outlined by the US National Science Foundation's official website.

Furthermore, Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will be acknowledged with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation, the highest honor bestowed upon technological achievements in the United States, according to the US Patent and Trademark Office's website.
