In Dehradun, a woman named Kaushiki Dhyani reported that her iPhone was among several devices stolen from Clement Town on September 12. The thief left behind a contact number on the locked screen, allowing Kaushiki to reach out to the perpetrator. She claimed that the thief subsequently sent her SMS and WhatsApp messages, requesting the password to her stolen phone.
Kaushiki also alleged that residents in her area faced difficulties registering complaints with the police, with some applications not accepting their reports. The thefts reportedly occurred between 4 am and 8 am, with Kaushiki's flat being the final target. She further claimed that 16 similar thefts were reported in the same area after her incident.
Despite police denial of ignoring the thefts, Kaushiki accused the police of being unable to apprehend the criminals.
