Former India cricket coach Ravi Shastri shared a story from the 2014-15 tour of Australia, where Virat Kohli's performance was notably boosted by the presence of his then-girlfriend Anushka Sharma in the stands. Shastri argued that players should be allowed to bring their partners on tour, citing Kohli's exceptional performance as proof.
In the Boxing Day Test match at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Kohli scored 169 runs, his highest Test score at the time, and he kissed his bat after reaching 100. Shastri even mimicked Kohli blowing a kiss to Anushka in the stands, a moment that garnered significant attention. The couple later married in 2017, and Anushka has been vocal about not being blamed for Kohli's performances.
The episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show also featured comedy skits and commentary on current affairs.
