Penguins vs. Capitals Score, Live Updates, Highlights From NHL Game

Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins will face off against the Washington Capitals in one of the NHL’s most storied rivalries. This matchup is particularly significant as it marks Alex Ovechkin’s final game before he plans to retire after the 2026-27 season, leaving only a limited amount of time for Crosby and Ovechkin to face each other. The Penguins entered the game on the heels of a 3-2 loss to the Winnipeg Jets, while the Capitals had won their first two games of the season, 1-1-0.

The Penguins will wear their projected lineup for the game, with Rusty removing the scratched from their forward group. Following the Penguins’ lineup announcement, the Capitals released their lines earlier, with the Capitals releasing their lineup. The game will be broadcast on TNT, and viewers can also stream it live on DIRECTV.
