Pas: Viral candidate list for Melaka polls not official

A list of candidates for four state seats in Melaka's upcoming state election, which circulated on social media, has been declared unofficial by the Pas party. The party cautioned that the dissemination of the list might lead to public confusion. It pointed out that various social media accounts featuring Pas-related content, including TV Pas Melaka and Melaka Kini, are not under the direct oversight or management of the state party leadership.

The party emphasized that its members and supporters should refrain from using these pages as official sources of information to prevent any misunderstandings and the propagation of inaccurate data. It urged the public to disregard or refrain from spreading unverified information. Additionally, former Bukit Katil seat candidate Mohammad Al Hafiz Yahya expressed his unawareness of the list and lack of confirmation regarding his candidacy.

He stated that any decision concerning the candidates would be contingent upon a decision made by Pas central leadership, and he personally did not wish to anticipate any official announcement from the party.

As of the current information, there has been no confirmation of the list's validity, and Al Hafiz Yahya himself admitted to being uncertain about the origin of the information. Earlier, a Facebook post featuring the alleged candidate list had gone viral, claiming that Zulhilmi Suboh or Nor Faizal Nordin had been nominated for the Bemban seat, Al Hafiz Yahya for the Bukit Katil seat, a candidate from the Melaka Pas Youth Council for the Ayer Keroh seat, and Bakri Jamaluddin for the Paya Rumput seat.
