Aberdeen, South Dakota (KELO) — Drew Simon from O Gorman emerged victorious in the 2026 Class AA individual state golf championship by securing a playoff hole win against Tyson Blom of Lincoln's Patriots. Despite the Patriots claiming the team title, the margin of victory was slim. Simon and Blom were tied at -2 and 140 strokes each after the 36th hole, with both players shooting two-under to force the playoff.
However, Simon's consistency proved decisive as his par on the first playoff hole secured him the championship. Lincoln's Patriots maintained their strong form in team golf, winning their second consecutive state title, though the victory margin was narrower compared to their usual performance.
