How Israel’s genocide in Gaza pulled Britons into the Palestine movement

Gaza City marks third anniversary of Hamas attacks with new Israeli strikes, resulting in three reported deaths. Palestinians flee following an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. One of the dead, Mohamed Tamous, was a volunteer for the civil defense agency. Another deceased, Hisham Ibrahim Abu Mustafa, was a 60-year-old man who was killed in an Israeli strike in Nasser Hospital.

The Israeli military asserts it targeted and killed two Hamas terrorists who had exited Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip and planted explosives in the area designated as Hamas-controlled. The Israeli military identifies one of the deceased as Tamous, who was a sniper in Hamas' military wing and a member of the civil defense.

Despite the US-brokered ceasefire, Israel claims control over 60% of Gaza, placing it on the territory's outer perimeter, including Beit Hanoun, a city largely destroyed. Displaced residents still live in tent cities and makeshift shelters near the rubble of bombed-out buildings. The war and famine have left Gaza's population in dire conditions, with Ahmed Nasser, a resident of Gaza City, describing life as "desperately hard" due to hunger, fear, displacement, and soaring prices.

Israel's military offensive has displaced nearly the entire Gaza population and killed more than 74,200 people since the ceasefire was declared last October, according to Gaza's health ministry, considered a reliable source by the United Nations.
