Hasan Piker criticized Fox News for alleging that liberals misinterpreted Donald Trump's threat to "take out" Los Angeles and San Diego from Iran, pointing out that the network's "The Five" hosts have made similar accusations against him multiple times. Piker expressed concern about what would happen if Trump repeated the statement.
The clip from "The Five" featured Greg Gutfeld asserting that the media's reporting on Trump's comments is either inaccurate or deliberately deceptive. Gutfeld listed three possibilities: the media is genuinely mistaken, they are intentionally misleading, or they failed to watch the original clip. Gutfeld claimed that Fox News hosts have become adept at recognizing patterns, observing that such occurrences never happen to the left.
The controversy arose after Trump reportedly suggested that Iran could "take out" Los Angeles or San Diego during a rally, with the president's team later clarifying that he was referring to the possibility of Iran possessing the capability to target these cities with a nuclear weapon. The incident led to widespread criticism from various public figures, including California Governor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, and actress Carrie Coon.
