Google Photos could soon make it easier to find people and pets in albums

Upcoming Google Photos version may make it easier to find people and pets in albums. The new feature could allow users to filter images based on individuals and their pets within a specific album. This enhancement would also enable users to add multiple people and pets to the filters, streamlining the sorting process for large collections.

Currently, Google Photos offers the ability to locate all photos of a specific person or pet in a user's entire library; however, the platform does not provide a comparable option within individual albums. While the Google Photos app can already cluster faces of people and pets, and permits users to assign names to each face in the library, it currently lacks the capability to filter content by face within an individual album, displaying only images containing the specified individuals.
