Golden Knights beat Kraken 6-2 behind 2 goals each from Olofsson and Hertl

Victor Olofsson and Tomas Hertl each scored two goals as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Seattle Kraken 6-2 on Tuesday night. Mark Stone added a goal and an assist, becoming the third player for the Vegas team to reach 400 points. Jack Eichel contributed a goal and three assists, while Shane Wright and Jared McCann scored in the third period for the Kraken.

Kaapo Kakko assisted on both of the Kraken's goals. Olofsson opened the scoring in the first period with 6:58 left, and Hertl scored a power-play goal with 4:02 remaining in the first to make it 2-0. Stone extended the Golden Knights' lead to 4-0 with a goal at 1:43 of the second period, after Seattle's Brandon Montour broke his stick on a hard shot from the blue line.

Despite Vegas being short-handed early in the second period, Carter Hart made 25 saves for the Golden Knights, while Daccord had 16 saves in two periods for the Kraken, replaced by Philipp Grubauer at the start of the third. Grubauer made six saves. The third period became physical, with Seattle's Ben Meyers being assessed a five-minute major and game misconduct for a hard check on Olofsson, and Montour and Stone engaging in a fight, resulting in Montour also receiving a misconduct.

Ryan Winterton and Marc Gatcomb dropped gloves with 4:57 left in the third. The Kraken will begin a five-game road trip on Friday at Detroit, while Vegas returns home to face Toronto on Thursday.
