The EWN@10 Conference & Expo, held in Accra, featured four flagship initiatives to strengthen women's leadership and impact. The conference, chaired by the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs Matilda Asante-Asiedu, discussed leadership, career advancement, influence, wealth, personal development and legacy.
EWN Executive Committee Chairperson, Mrs Janet Sunkwa-Mills, announced the initiatives: 'The Collaborative Ecosystem', an alliance with nine strategic partners for gender parity in decision-making; the EWN Skills Catalogue, offering leadership development and capacity-building through the network's website; EWN VentureHer, supporting women entrepreneurs; and an expanded EWN Ellevate, a mentorship program for 500 senior high school girls in Tamale, with plans to expand.
The network, established in 2016, has grown to include over 200 women leaders from 28 industries and impacted more than 10,000 lives. Nana Prah Agyensaim VI, the Paramount Chief of the Assin Owirenkyi Traditional Area, urged leaders to move beyond mentorship to sponsorship, emphasizing that support for women in leadership is a leadership, development and economic issue.
