Dubai launches Create AI Agents Championship with prize money exceeding Dh2.5m

Dubai has unveiled the Create AI Agents Championship, a new competition set to replace its popular app development contest. The initiative aims to position Dubai as a pioneer in artificial intelligence innovation, with Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed declaring it the city leading in this field. The championship will concentrate on crafting autonomous AI-agent systems to tackle real-world issues, open to creators of all ages and nationalities, excluding fully commercialized solutions.

Winners will be recognized in four categories, with Dh550,000 granted to each category champion and Dh1 million to the overall victor. This new competition, announced at an awards ceremony for the third Create Apps Championship, will award a total prize fund surpassing Dh2.5 million. Registration is now open, and participants can benefit from workshops and mentorship sessions throughout November and December.

Yesterday's ceremony also celebrated the winners of the Create Apps Championship, where Kwelio's POP app, utilizing behavioral science and predictive analytics for medication adherence, secured the Longevity App of the Year and Dubai's App of the Year titles. Since its inception in 2023, the Create Apps Championship has gathered 15,564 apps from 153 nations and facilitated the launch of over 140 apps.
