Derrick White Addresses His Future With Celtics

Derrick White has spoken about his future with the Boston Celtics in a conversation with John Karalis of SI. White acknowledged that the NBA business can be unpredictable, noting that anyone can get traded. However, he praised the team's efforts in caring for one another in the locker room. The good news for White is that he has a four-year, $118 million extension signed in 2024, keeping him under contract through the 2027-28 season.

If he chooses to, he can exercise a player option for the 2028-29 season, allowing him to stay with the Celtics for at least three more years. This contract provides stability for both White and the Celtics, but it doesn't guarantee his continued presence in Boston beyond that point. Other teams may show interest in White, particularly due to his impressive three-point shooting.

Despite this, White will focus on what he can control, fully aware of the rapid changes that can occur in the NBA.
