Breanna Stewart and Jason Sudeikis compare UConn women's basketball to 'Saturday Night Live'
Jason Sudeikis has been a visible courtside supporter of Stewart and the New York Liberty.
UConn basketball star Breanna Stewart and actor Jason Sudeikis discussed various aspects of their basketball careers and Sudeikis' growing appreciation for women's sports. Sudeikis, known for his role in "Ted Lasso," compared the UConn basketball program to his own successful career at Saturday Night Live. Both are often referred to as "cults."
Stewart noted that Stewart's coach, Geno Auriemma, has adjusted his leadership style in recent years, becoming softer much like SNL producer Lorne Michaels over time. Sudeikis suggested that Auriemma's more relaxed approach may be due to changes in the landscape following the implementation of name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules and the loosening of transfer portal restrictions.
