Mr Odoi-Sykes, a former Member of Parliament for the Ashiedu Keteke Constituency and a lawyer and diplomat, served Ghana in various capacities throughout his long public service career.
He entered Parliament after winning the Ashiedu Keteke seat in the 1979 elections and became Minority Leader in 1980. Odoi-Sykes later served as National Chairman of the NPP from 1998 to 2001, during which the party secured its first presidential and parliamentary electoral victory in December 2000. Born in Accra, he attended Accra Academy, the University of Ghana, the University of London, and Johns Hopkins University.
