Apple may team up with LG on a smart doorbell, lock, and thermostat, report says
Apple is reportedly partnering with LG to develop a range of smart home devices, including a smart lock, thermostat, video doorbell, security cameras, and a floodlight, according to Bloomberg. These devices are expected to run on LG's branding instead of Apple's, and will be compatible with Apple's upcoming smart home hub. The hub, which has not been officially named, is rumored to have a 6-inch square screen and will be unveiled by Apple on October 13.
The devices are designed to work together with Apple's new AI-powered Siri. Apple is also reportedly preparing a new HomePod Mini and a new Apple TV streaming device, both of which have not been updated since 2022.
