Recent footage of the cancelled Xbox Perfect Dark reboot, uncovered by MP1ST, reveals a parkour-heavy chase scene and the summary execution of a fruit prop during testing. The two-minute long video was reportedly found in a VFX artist's portfolio. The footage showcases shooting and explosion mechanics, with a significant portion dedicated to testing the effects of gunfire on various surfaces and objects, including fruit and explosive containers.
The chase takes place in a collapsing factory, possibly for a mission called "Most Wanted," where protagonist Joanna Dark pursues a character named Carrington. Microsoft's decision to cancel the project in July last year led to layoffs at Crystal Dynamics, who were working on the reboot alongside The Initiative.
