On October 5, 2026, the first four seasons of Taylor Sheridan's Mayor of Kingstown series became available to stream on Netflix outside of Paramount+. This opens up the show to new viewers who may not have access to Paramount+. The critically acclaimed crime thriller is co-created by Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, the star of Yellowstone, and follows a family in the fictional town of Kingstown, Michigan.
They navigate the balance of power between various street gangs, law enforcement, attorneys, and prison wardens. Jeremy Renner stars as Mike McLusky, who reluctantly accepts the title of "Mayor" of the family of mediators. Renner is joined by Edie Falco, Lennie James, Kyle Chandler, and Dillon in various roles. The series, which premiered on Paramount+ in November 2021, features familiar faces alongside the lead cast.
Dillon revealed that the idea for the show originated years earlier, growing from his upbringing in a prison town and Sheridan's curiosity about the truth and facts. Despite initial mixed reviews, Seasons 3 and 4 of Mayor of Kingstown received more positive feedback, with Season 4 even receiving a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from just five critics.
