After Beyonce Controversy, Charley Crockett and Gavin Adcock Are All Good
“We might not always see eye to eye but that don’t mean we can’t drop our pride and b---shit and be friends,” reads Adcock’s post, on which he tags Crockett.
Charley Crockett and Gavin Adcock, once embroiled in a fierce country music rivalry over Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter album, are now enjoying a harmonious relationship. The two artists squared off last year after several prominent country singers disparaged Beyoncé's country-inspired album. Adcock, one of the critics, suggested that his own career had benefited from his controversial comments, stating that he didn't believe Cowboy Carter should be labeled as country music.
Crockett, defending the Grammy-winning artist, blasted the "bro country" genre that Adcock had praised, stating that Beyoncé was not responsible for the animosity felt by country fans. Despite their public feud, Crockett and Adcock have recently been seen enjoying some much-needed downtime together, enjoying a cold one and a laugh at a local honky tonk.
Adcock shared a photo of the two hanging out, tagging Crockett and writing that they were friends "despite not always seeing eye to eye." The evidence of their amicable relationship extends beyond social media posts. Last August, Adcock posted a video of himself receiving a bouquet of roses and a copy of Crockett's latest album, Dollar a Day, from the country music star.
Adcock expressed his gratitude, calling Crockett "buddy." Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter, a country-inspired collection, was a massive hit, reaching No. 1 on several music charts globally and at the 67th Grammy Awards, the album claimed Album of the Year, making Beyoncé the first Black woman to win that category as a lead artist.
